Jim Petersen

James A. Petersen, P.E., D.F.E. (Jim) is the President of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers. He worked for product manufacturers for 20 years, before starting his Forensic Engineering practice in 1995. He joined NAFE in 2002 and has been active in a variety of committees, leading to his term as President. He specializes in products liability matters, focusing on fuel gas appliances and equipment. He serves on committees for 33 product standards. He is the Chair of the ASTM E58.02 subcommittee on Product Defect Incidents.

John Certuse

John Certuse P.E. is a Past President of The National Academy of Forensic Engineers, holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from The Massachusetts Maritime Academy and is a licensed Mechanical Engineer, Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, oil burner technician and pipefitter. John is President of ISE Engineering in Attleboro Massachusetts. John has testified in courts regarding forensic matters throughout the Atlantic region and New England.
